Rang a Dó Makes a Hovercraft

We're very busy in rang a dó, experimenting and testing and analysing and messing things up!! But this week we managed to make a mini hovercraft simply using a balloon, pop-up bottle top and an old cd. Have a look.....

Lost in Candy Land - Tyler

Once upon a time I was in bed and I had a dream that when I woke up I was in a strange land. it was full of candy. So, I called it candy land. There was a river going by and it was full of chocolate and the trees were made out of candy floss. The walls were made of hard chocolate and the roof of the house was made of cake. I noticed that when I ate some of the chocolate branches that they seemed to grow back again. Even though I was lost I wasn't afraid because it was full of CANDY. I sat down and I ate the biggest marshmallow I had ever seen. When I woke up from my dream, my pillow was gone.

Alien Invasion by Anton

There was a boy called Anton. He lived in Ireland with his brother, sister and ma and da. Anton and his family were going on their holidays to California. When we were there, I and my family jumped out of the chrome private jet. Then , the military tank brought us to the military. Next, we got out after that. My family and me got into the chopper. The chopper brought us to the mansion we rented. The mansion was 'ginourmous'. When all of us got in, the was a big alien stuck on a wall. I thought there was something suspicious about it because I thought it winked at me. After that mystery Scooby Doo moment, me and my brother Dion went out to the pool. Then, I went in to get my dinner. When I finished my dinner, I also had a look around. Everyone went to bed. I woke up and heard a big noise. I walked down the stairs scared. An alien!! I ran. They got me back with some device. They brought me up to the Attic. They had my family and me tied up. I picked 2 aliens up and threw them down and untied my family. But, there was an alien behind me. He shot my family with a sleeping gun. I jumped out of the window. There was one person. I said Strange aliens took over California. One alien came over and said hi. I said ahh. Then the alien said don't be afraid. I am a friendly alien. ''Oh'!' I said. Then the alien took me on a tour and it was truly amazing. Anton woke up. Oh! It was a dream. I'm still in California. I nearly had a heart attack.

One day, I just woke up and turned on the news. It said there was a strange pod coming our way. A picture came up on the television. It was a picture of the pod. It was in outer space. A huge part of the pod opened and a rocket came out. It was so fast that it crashed just outside my house. Then, tiny pods came down and aliens came out. They saw me through the window. I ran upstairs and opened the attic. I crawled in and opened the skylight. I crawled up on the roof. There was a ray gun blaster on the roof. It must have fell out of an alien's hand when the tiny pods were coming down. I killed all the aliens but more came out of the rocket. I jumped off the roof and landed on an alien's head and that squished him. I shot the rest but a huge alien about the size of Godzilla came. It had a crystal gem on its forehead. It was so big that it couldn't find me. I climbed on top of him. Then, it felt me on its back but he thought that it was an itch so he scratched his back and I fell in my front yard swimming pool. It saw me getting out of the water. It went crazy. He stomped his feet at me. I jumped on his foot. He lifted up his foot so high that I went in the air. I shot the crystal on his forehead and he died. That was the end of the aliens.

How to Make a Fridge Magnet - David

You will need:

·      Pompoms

·      Glue

·      Pipe Cleaner

·      Googly Eyes

·      Magnetic Tape

·      Scissors

Steps:

1.     Cut the magnetic tape with scissors about 10cm long

2.     Arrange the pompoms into a shape of a caterpillar

3.     Peel the white strip off the magnetic tape

4.     Put the pompoms on the magnetic tape

5.     Glue the googly eyes onto the head

6.     Cut the pipe cleaner in half and fold it in half

7.     Stick the antennas onto the caterpillar

Student of the Week- Scott T

This week Scott Thompson had one of the best weeks ever in school. He always makes us laugh and is a great boy in the class but this week Scort really put his mind down to his writing. Check out his writing, it is so neat and a huge improvement! Scott showed great pride in his writing and even asked could he stay in at break to finish his writing!! Keep up the amazing work Scott! You really deserve student of the week this week!

Paddy's Day Fun!

On Friday 14th of March we had lots of fun marching in the parade. The whole school were there, with the junior school, the girls school and the little boys and girls from the crèche. It was great fun!! We made hats for the parade and got our faces painted by Miss Sally and Miss Stafford!!
