Symmetry

Anton gave us a fantastic definition for Symmetry today. 

A symmetrical shape is a shape that can be cut through the middle to show two or more pieces that can be folded on top of each other or  to show a mirror image or matching shape. Anton also pointed out that a square has lots of lines of symmetry.

Friday 13th!!

Today 2nd class had another great day! They have been working so hard and behaving so well we decided it was time for a trip! First we went to the GPO, where we posted our Santa letters and met Stephen who brought us on a tour of the museum. Next we walked across town to the Mansion House where The Lord Mayor lives. Here we saw a live crib, with a donkey, a goat and sheep in it. After that we went to St. Stephens Green and had some fun in the playground. By the time we got backed to school all of the boys were really tired!! Lots of walking and lots of fun!! Can't wait for our next trip to the panto next week!

Party time in rang a do!

Today Lewis turned 8! Thanks to his mam rang a do had a great party!! Thanks for letting us celebrate with you Lewis! Happy birthday!!

Report Writing

2nd class have been busy writing reports about gorillas. The boys followed these easy steps.
Step 1-brainstorm
Step 2- KWL chart
Step 3- research
Step 4- write your report
Well done boys!  They are really impressive and informative!

Time to Read Library Visit

Every Thursday we are very lucky to have volunteers come in and read with us. Each boy reads with their reader for half an hour. The books are really interesting and the boys can't wait until Thursday. Sometimes the boys take the book home to read it there. Last Thursday we went on a visit to the library. It was great fun.

Amazing Homework

Fun Friday!!

Second class were working really hard this week. Learning how to tell the time, working extra hard in their reading and spellings groups, learning all about the moon landing, being on time, having all of their homework done, the list goes on!! Well done rang a do! So after assembly on Friday we took a break in the staff room for some hot chocolate!!! Yummmmmmm! Thanks to Benny, Dylan and Callum who have been helping the little lads during lunch- hope you enjoyed your hot chocolate
